Friday, February 28

  • From 10:37 to 11:12 p.m., the southbound F Market and Wharves Line was blocked at Beach and Mason streets due to police activity. Northbound F streetcars switched back at Pier 39.
  • From 7:50 to 9:09 p.m., the T Third Line and 24 Divisadero Route were blocked at Third Street and Palou Avenue by Water Department repairs. Southbound T trains switched back at Third Street and Evans Avenue, while eastbound 24 coaches switched back at Cortland Avenue and Hilton Street. Bus shuttles supplemented service on both the T Third Line and 24 Divisadero Route.
  • From 1:12 to 1:45 p.m., the westbound California Cable Car Line was delayed on California Street between Hyde and Larkin streets due to a cable car with a mechanical issue.
  • From 1:00 to 4:51 p.m., the Powell Mason Cable Car Line was down due to a cable issue. Bus shuttles supplemented line sevice.
  • From 8:22 to 9:02 a.m., the J Church Line was delayed at Church and 20th streets due to a mechanical issue.  Southbound trains switched back at 16th Street.  Bus shuttles supplemented line service.

Thursday, February 27

  • From 6:04 to 9:30 a.m., the Powell Cable Car Line was delayed at Powell and Clay streets due to a mechanical issue.  Bus shuttles supplemented line service.

Wednesday, February 26

  • From 10:28 to 11:33 p.m., the California Cable Car Line was blocked at California and Davis streets by a non Muni accident. Bus shuttles supplemented line service.
  • From 7:30 to 8:51 p.m., the T Third Line was delayed at Bayshore Boulevard and Visitacion Avenue in both directions due to a disabled train. Southbound T trains switched back at Third Street and Armstrong Avenue. Bus shuttles supplemented line service.
  • From 6:38 to 7:24 p.m., the Powell Cable Car Line was blocked by a stalled automobile at Powell and Bush streets. Bus shuttles supplemented line service.
  • From 5:19 to 7:23 p.m., the westbound N Judah Line was delayed at Judah and La Playa streets due to an overhead wire issue. Westbound N trains switched back at Judah Street and 48th Avenue.
  • From 7:41 to 8:51 a.m., the California Cable Car Line was down due to a mechanical issue.  Bus shuttles supplemented line service.

Tuesday, February 25

  • From 11:15 p.m. to 12:31 a.m. Wednesday, the eastbound F Market and Wharves Line was delayed at Market and Mason streets due to overhead wire issue.
  • From 2:31 to 4:01 p.m., the westbound 1 California Route was re-routed around the area of Sacramento and Stockton streets due to a disabled bus.

Monday, February 24

“The disruption to this morning’s Muni Metro service was due to a failure in the train control system. This incident was inexcusable and we apologize for the severe inconvenience suffered by Muni customers,” said John Haley, Director of Transit.   “We are working with the manufacturer to determine the cause of these incidents and to ensure a solution is in place.   We strive to increase reliability and we clearly did not take a step towards that objective today.”

Current details regarding today’s major incidents:

  • From 6:19 to 6:37 a.m. and from 7:57 to 8:33 a.m., subway service was down due to a computer system issue that caused the subway to fail safely and stop all trains.  This required a reset of the system before we could start service again.  Shuttle buses supplemented service. (Manufacturers of the subway system are on site and working to find the cause of the subway shutdown.)

Saturday, February 22

  • From 1:18 to 4:54 p.m., the Powell Cable Car Line was down due to a cable issue. Bus shuttles supplemented line service.

Thursday, February 19

  • From 1:40 p.m. to the end of service, the L Taraval Line was down due to a broken water main at Ulloa Street and 15th Avenue. Bus shuttles supplemented line service between West Portal Station and 46th Avenue and Wawona Street.
  • From 5:32 to 7:38 a.m., the Hyde Cabe Car line was down due to a cable issue.  Shuttle buses supplemented service.

Tuesday, February 18

  • From 2:49 to 3:25 p.m., the 24 Divisadero Route was blocked at Castro and 25th streets by emergency vehicles. Service was routed around the affected area. Bus shuttles supplemented service.
  • From 12:04 to 1:03 p.m., the westbound California Cable Car Line was blocked at California and Sansome streets due to a non Muni accident .

Monday, Febraury 17

  • From 2:49 to 5:36 p.m., the southbound T Third Line was blocked at Third Street and Hollister Avenue due to a disabled automobile on the track way.

Sunday, February 16

  • From 12:32 p.m. until the end of service, the Powell Cable Car Line was down due to a cable issue. Bus shuttles supplemented line service.

Saturday, February 16

  • From 2:35 to 6:03 p.m., outbound Muni Metro service was delayed at Powell Station due to a major medical emergency. Bus shuttles supplemented Metro service between West Portal and Embarcadero stations. 
  • From 12:32 to 1:30 p.m., the inbound Powell Stree Cable Car line was down due to a cable splice check.  Shuttle buses supplemented service.

Friday, February 15

  • From 3:13 to 4:12 p.m., the 19 Polk Route was re-routed around the area of Innes Avenue and Griffith Street in both directions due to police activity.

Thursday, February 14

  • From 11:22 to 11:53 p.m., the northbound M Oceanview Line was blocked at 19th Avenue and Junipero Serra Boulevard by a disabled automobile on the track way.

Sunday, February 9

  • From 12:32 to 1:11 a.m., the northbound T Third Line was blocked at Third Street and Newcombe Avenue by a non Muni accident. Bus shuttles supplemented line service.

Saturday, February 8

  • From 8:19 to 8:52 p.m., the northbound M Oceanview Line was blocked at 19th Avenue and Junipero Serra Boulevard by a stalled automobile on the track way. Northbound M trains were routed onto the northbound K Ingleside Line. Bus shuttles supplemented line service.
  • From 1:19 to 2:06 p.m., the Powell Hyde Cable Car Line was down due to a mechanical issue. Bus shuttles supplemented line service.
  • From 12:06 to 12:42 a.m., the southbound J Church Line was blocked at Glen Park due to disabled automobile on the track way.

Friday, February 7

  • From 6:00 to 6:30 p.m., the California Cable Car Line was down due to a mechanical issue. Bus shuttles supplemented line serivce.
  • From 2:24 to 2:59 p.m., the eastbound California Cable Car Line was down due to a stalled cable car. Bus shuttles supplemented line service.
  • From 7:19 a.m. to 2:13 p.m., the California Cable Car Line was down due to a cable issue.  Bus shuttles supplemented service.

Thursday, February 6

  • From 6:53 to 7:28 p.m., the Powell Cable Car Line was down due to a minor medical emergency at Powell and Sutter streets.

Wednesday, February 5

  • From 4:50 to 5:45 a.m., the 90 San Bruno was delayed at Van Ness Avenue between Grove and McAllister streets due to a non-Muni accident blocking.  Buses were rerouted around the affected area. 

Tuesday, February 4

  • From 12:30 to 3:04 p.m., the T Third Line was blocked in both directions on Third Street between 20th and 23rd streets by police activity. Southbound T trains switched back at Fourth and Channel streets, while northbound T trains switched back at Third Street and Evans Avenue. Bus shuttles supplemented line service.
  • From 7:00 to 8:10 a.m., the outbound subway service experienced rolling delays due to an signal issue. Switch backs were in place to minimize line delays.  Bus shuttles supplemented service. 

Monday, February 3

  • From 3:21 p.m. to the end of service, the Powell Mason Cable Car Line was down due to a cable issue. Bus shuttles supplemented line service.

Saturday, February 1

  • From 8:07 to 8:40 p.m., the Powell Cable Car Line was blocked at Market and Powell streets by police activity.
  • From 6:57 to 10:25 p.m., the westbound 54 Felton Route was routed around the area of Hudson Avenue and Cashmere Street due to police activity.
  • From 3:13 to 6:27 p.m., the Powell Mason Cable Car Line was down due to a cable issue. Bus shuttles supplemented line service.
