"I am deeply disappointed and perplexed by the members of Transport Workers Union Local 250A Transit Operators who today voted down reasonable concessions that could have put the City and County of San Francisco on a sound financial foundation for the coming fiscal year—as well as provide the SFMTA with the funding required to restore many of the Muni service cuts of May 8. Moreover, I join with Mayor Newsom and all responsible people in challenging the members of TWU 250A to quickly reconsider their actions and to recast their votes. By doing so, they will join the ranks of their union brothers and sisters across City government who have selflessly acted to preserve jobs and to ensure the delivery of vital services to the people of San Francisco."
