Livable Streets ProjectsThe SFMTA is not just focused on public transit. Safety for bicyclists, pedestrians, and motorists is a top priority. Taxi ProjectsPedestrian ProjectsOne of the most scenic cities in the world, San Francisco is a great place to walk. Making sure that pedestrian travel is safe is the primary goal of our Pedestrian Program, part of Livable Streets. For a brief description of each project, see the Pedestrian Projects & Planning page. Parking ProjectsSan Francisco has around 450,000 registered vehicles, and each one needs a place to park. This increases by about 35,000 vehicles during each workday. For a brief description of each project, see the Parking Projects & Planning page.
