Effective July 16, 2011, the following stops are changed for routes 38, 38L, 71 and 71L.
- Discontinued 38 and 38L stop: Market at Front.
- New 38, 71, 71L stop: Mission after Beale, west corner, logical northwest.
- New stop for all four routes: Fremont at Market, stop island.
This change is not yet reflected on the official Muni map.
About Transbay Temporary Terminal Service
Due to the closing of the Transbay Terminal for construction and the opening of the Transbay Temporary Terminal on the block bordered by Howard, Main, Folsom and Beale, some Muni routes have changed to serve the temporary terminal. This change is reflected on official Muni maps.

Bus stop islands
There are two new bus stop islands, one on southwest-bound Beale (logical southbound) after crossing Howard and one on northwest-bound Main (logical northbound) before crossing Howard. Both islands are closer to the Transbay Temporary Terminal than to the other side of the street. The islands afford customers the least street-crossing distance to the Transbay Temporary Terminal.
