If you are a juvenile, your parent or guardian must choose whether to pay your ticket or protest your ticket. If your violation was issued to an adult on or after Feb. 4, 2008, or your violation was issued to an adult before Feb. 4, 2008, this page does not apply. To pay your ticket:Step 1: Be patient.Please allow 3 weeks from the day you were issued the ticket before contacting the court. This will ensure that they have received the citation and entered it into the computer. Step 2: Be sure you have the necessary information.If you do not have your copy of the citation and do not remember the citation number, please call 415.701.3000. Step 3: Pay your citation.The parent or guardian must accompany the juvenile to to the Hall of Justice, 850 Bryant, Room 101, in person, making sure to have your copy of the citation or the citation number.
To protest your ticket:Step 1: Be patient.Please allow 3 weeks from the day you were issued the ticket before contacting the court. Step 2: Be sure you have the necessary information.If you do not have your copy of the citation and do not remember the citation number, please call 415.701.3000. Step 3: If required, pay your fine in advance.Only if you want to file your petition by phone, rather than in person, you must post bail in advance. That is, you must send in the full amount of the fine, along with a copy of your citation, to: Superior Court of San Francisco Step 4: File your petition to contest your citation.For this step, you may file by phone or in person.
You must have completed step 3 above. Have your citation number ready when you call; the citation number is listed on the front of the citation, at the bottom center, and begins with the capital letter "M". Contact the Superior Court at 415.553.9400. Then follow the telephone prompts. The court will notify you of your court date by mail.
Go to the Hall of Justice, 850 Bryant, Room 101, in person, making sure to have your copy of the citation or the citation number.
