San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) Limited Use Muni Ticket Terms and ConditionsUpdated Jan. 10, 2011 These terms and conditions constitute your SFMTA Limited Use Muni Ticket Agreement and shall also apply to all of your subsequent SFMTA Limited Use Muni Ticket purchases or reloads. The Limited Use Muni Ticket will be referred to as the “Muni Ticket”. Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully and keep a copy for your records. Intended Use of Muni TicketThe Muni Ticket is a paper stock ticket which utilizes smart card technology to load, store and use select fare products. The Muni Ticket is intended for limited use in a 90-day period. The Muni Ticket may fail with repeated use and normal wear and tear. Fare Products Available to a Muni Ticket CustomerA fee may apply to each Muni Ticket issued. Only a Single Trip or Round Trip may be loaded onto a Muni Ticket. Discounted Muni Tickets are for Disabled, Seniors (65+) and Youth (5 – 17), Medicare-cardholders, attendants for approved Regional Transit Connection (RTC) cardholders, and non-service animals with disabled customers only. A 90-minute transfer is automatically encoded to the Muni Ticket from the first tap to a Clipper® reader on a Muni Metro faregate or on a Muni surface vehicle (except Cable Car). Reloading your Muni TicketMuni Tickets may be reloaded for up to 90 days from date of activation at any Clipper reload device. The expiration date of your ticket may be checked at any of the SFMTA Ticket Vending Machines found in the Muni Metro stations. Any Single or Round Trip remaining on the SFMTA Ticket at the time of expiration will not be refunded and becomes the property of the SFMTA. Misuse of your Muni Ticket, such as inserting it into the fare collection equipment of other Transit Operators, inserting it into ATMs or similar devices, or punching a hole or folding it may disable/invalidate your ticket. It is your responsibility to maintain the Muni Ticket in good, useable condition. Each individual will be required to have his or her own Muni Ticket to enter/exit the rail system or ride a Muni vehicle. A Muni Ticket must be tapped to a Clipper reader with each boarding or faregate entry. The resale of Muni Tickets is prohibited. Muni Ticket Loss or Damage ReplacementLost or damaged Muni Tickets will not be replaced. Treat your Muni Ticket as you would cash. TerminationThe SFMTA may terminate use of your Muni Ticket if used in violation of these terms and conditions.
