Regular faresApplies to buses, Metro, and historic streetcars. Applies to service to and from AT&T Park. Does not apply to cable car fares, or to Candlestick Park expresses and other Special Events service fares. Note: Exact change required. No change given. No refunds provided for overpayment. Turnstile faregates only accept electronic fare media (cash value or Muni pass on a Clipper® or RTC ID card, or a limited use Muni Ticket.)
The above fares are good for 90 minutes with a transfer. Always ask for a transfer on all Muni lines except cable cars, even if you do not plan to transfer to another vehicle. Transfers are issued on request at the time the fare is paid. If you pay a fare with cash value loaded on your Clipper card, your transfer is automatically applied to your card. You do not need a paper transfer. In Muni Metro subway stations, where you enter by a faregate, the transfer/fare receipt is automatically dispensed from a slot at the far side of the faregate once you have paid your fare. You need to take that transfer before you leave the faregate area. If you pay a fare with cash value loaded on your Clipper card, your transfer is automatically applied to your card. You do not need a paper transfer. J, K, L, M, N, S, and T customers must have a transfer/fare receipt or other Proof of Payment. Cable car fares
