Updates:May 14, 2013 Carl Street Track Replacement Project Update Dear Neighbor/Merchant/Muni Customer: The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), which oversees transportation in the city, including the Municipal Railway (Muni), is finishing up scheduled overhead wire replacement work on Carl Street between Cole and Arguello streets. At some locations, crews will continue to backfill the concrete foundations around the new poles on the sidewalk. The work, including pole and overhead wire replacements and sidewalk repairs, is expected to be completed by the end of May. Sometime in June, the installation of a new traffic signal will begin at the intersection of Carl and Stanyan streets. While under construction, there will be times when the existing signal will not work. During these times, traffic control officers will be on site to direct traffic. Also in June, the contractor will install rail lubricators on Carl Street, one at Cole Street and the other at Arguello Street. Installation of the traffic signal and the rail lubricators is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Weekend work may be necessary. The overall construction on Carl Street is expected to be finished in late June. Construction Impacts:

April 26, 2013 Carl Street Track Replacement Project Update Dear Neighbor/Merchant/Muni Customer: The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), which oversees transportation in the city, including the Municipal Railway (Muni), will continue overhead wire replacement work at various locations of Carl Street between Cole and Arguello streets. The work which started early this week will continue until mid-May with no interruption to Muni services. The work includes two elements: the overhead wire replacement which will take place between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., and replacement of the poles that support the wires which will take place between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Construction Impacts:

The Carl Street Rail Replacement Project includes track replacement on Carl Street between Arguello Boulevard and Cole Street. Construction is planned to begin in early 2012 and calls for several weekend shutdowns of portions of the N Judah Line from February 2012 to February 2013. Dates and details are subject to change due to weather and other unexpected conditions. There will be bus shuttle service operating in place of the affected light rail service.
