Meeting announcement for J Church rail work
The L Taraval project is complete. There will be no reroutes on the weekend of Feb. 5.

Rail Improvement Project affects L Taraval and J Church Lines
In order to maintain and improve Muni rail service, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), which operates Muni is conductiing rail replacement at the following intersections affecting the L and J lines:

Attention L Taraval Customers:
- On the weekends of Jan 8, 29 and Feb. 5, 2010, the regular L Taraval service will end at West Portal Station. From there, Muni bus shuttles will substitute for rail service to deliver customers to the end of the line at the San Francisco Zoo. Customers can get on and off the shuttle bus at all regular L Line stops except the stops around the construction site.
- L Taraval weekday service will not be impacted.
Attention J Church Customers:
- On the
the weekends of March 5, 12, and 19, 2010,
Muni will provide a shuttle bus for the J Church Line from Church and Duboce streets to Balboa Park.
- J Church weekday service will not be impacted.
A Reminder to Neighbors:
- Residents close to the construction site may be subject to some evening noise during construction.
- Access to driveways will be maintained during street closures, although there may be some delays due to the construction activities.
- Some street parking will be temporarily unavailable in and around the construction areas.
- Sidewalks will remain open to foot traffic most of the time. Businesses surrounding the construction sites will remain open.
Motorist Alert for Taraval Street work:
- During Taraval construction hours, Taraval Street will be closed to through traffic in both directions at 19th Avenue and Sunset Boulevard. Follow detour signs for alternate routes.
- Track work requires one direction to be closed on 19th Avenue and Sunset Boulevard at Taraval Street. Police officers will be on site detouring traffic onto parallel streets during construction.
- Slow traffic is expected around the construction sites. The SFMTA advises motorists to use alternate routes.
Motorist Alert for Church Street and San Jose Avenue work:
- Rail work will require some street closures. Police officers will be on site directing traffic.
