Church & Duboce Track Improvement Project

Church and Duboce Work continues April 20

The Church & Duboce Track Improvement Project, part of the SFMTA Capital Improvement Program, will not only replace aging Muni streetcar tracks and track work components, but will also include long overdue enhancements to your neighborhood such as street repaving, upgraded water lines and some new street lights and light poles.

Carl Street Track Improvement Project

Carl Street work continues April 20

The Carl Street Rail Replacement Project improve Muni service and system reliability by replacing the aging track on Carl Street between Arguello Boulevard and Cole Street and upgrading the pavement and pedestrian crossings within limits of the project.

Rail Improvement Project

Rail Improvement Project continues April 20

In an effort to maintain and improve the rail system in San Francisco, the SFMTA will replace the rails in several places in the Sunset District.

Metro Station Escalator Maintenance Program

The year 2012 marks a year-long escalator maintenance program at Church Street Station, Hallidie Plaza at Powell Station and Van Ness Station.

Green Light Rail Center Track Replacement Project

The Curtis E. Green Light Rail Center facility serves as a cleaning, electrical, painting, heavy repair, running repair, inspection and wheel truing shop and is a light rail terminus for the J and K/T lines. It is located in close proximity to the Balboa BART station and supports heavy pedestrian traffic during peak periods.

The Green Light Rail Center Track Replacement Project’s primary goal is to  enhance system reliability and efficiency and result in a reduction of infrastructure maintenance.

21 Hayes Pole Replacement, Miscellaneous Overhead Construction and Reconfiguring McAllister Street

The project, which began last summer, involved replacing trolley poles along the Muni 21 Hayes Route and converting McAllister Street from one-way to two-way operation between Hyde and Jones streets and converting Charles J. Brenham Place from one-way to two-way operation between McAllister and Market streets.

5 Fulton Ductbank Construction Project

The 5 Fulton Ductbank Construction Project will provide a major upgrade to the trolley system that will improve the safety and reliability of the Muni 5 Fulton Route trolley service and entails the replacement of the deteriorating poles and building 19 American with Disabilities Act curb ramps at seven intersections.

Islais Creek Construction Project

The SFMTA plans to construct a new bus yard on City-owned land at 1301 Cesar Chavez Street. The new yard will include parking, fueling and vehicle washing facilities. The SFMTA will create an edge treatment on the Islais Creek shoreline that allows for public access.

St. Francis Circle Rail Replacement Project

The St. Francis Circle Rail Replacement Project will help improve Muni service by replacing track and the overhead system at the St. Francis Circle intersection and will include other additional benefits at the intersection such as improved pedestrian islands, crosswalks and curb ramps, and new road pavement.
