Take Muni Express to 49ers Stadium at Monster Park® (Candlestick)Muni offers convenient express service to and from Monster Park (Candlestick) on the 9X, 28X-, and 47X-BALLPARK EXPRESS bus lines for every San Francisco 49ers® home game. Muni also offers 86-BALLPARK SHUTTLE from Bacon & San Bruno. Or ride the T-THIRD STREET to Gilman & 3rd Streets, where you can catch the FOOTBALL SHUTTLE throughout the game. New for 20079X Ballpark Express vs. 9X Bay Shore ExpressBoth the 9X Bay Shore Express and the 9X Ballpark Express operate on Sundays from some downtown stops. Look for a BALLPARK headsign to be sure you board the right bus. The 9X Bay Shore Express does not serve Monster Park (Candlestick). If you board the 9X Bay Shore Express by mistake, transfer to the 86 Ballpark Shuttle at Bacon & San Bruno to get to Monster Park (Candlestick). 86 Ballpark Shuttle no longer serves CaltrainThe 86 Ballpark Shuttle will no longer serve the Paul Avenue Caltrain station. Caltrain no longer serves Paul Avenue station. Caltrain to Monster Park (Candlestick) instructions are below. Extra Service on T-Third lineThe T-Third Light Rail line will have several extra trips to the Bay View district before the game and from the Bay View district after the game for those who wish to take the T-Third and transfer to the new Football Shuttle bus at 3rd & Gilman/Paul station.

When boarding lines 9X, 28X and 47X, a round-trip football transfer is issued when you pay a cash fare. Hold on to this transfer for return service after the game. If you miss the last 9X or 47X express bus, take the 9-SAN BRUNO from Market Street, anywhere between Montgomery Station and 11th Street, to San Bruno and Bacon, where you can transfer to the 86-BALLPARK SHUTTLE. (This is a change from the 2006 season.) If you miss the last 28X, take the 29-SUNSET from 25th Avenue north of the park, or Sunset Blvd. south of the park, Stonestown (transfer from the 28-19TH AVENUE), Garfield/Grafton between Junipero Serra and Plymouth, or Geneva Avenue between Plymouth and Mission (including Balboa Park BART). The 29-SUNSET stops at Gilman Avenue & Bill Walsh Way (formerly Giants Drive), a short walk through the parking lot to the stadium. Leaving the stadiumAll express and shuttle service pick up on the loop on the west side of the stadium close to the drop-off point. Line numbers are posted. Lines normally begin return trips during the 4th Quarter or when there are significant numbers of patrons waiting to leave. Show your round-trip football transfer to Muni personnel when boarding express vehicles. Service continues after the game until all waiting riders have been accommodated. 49er Express Bus Riders: Keep Your Football Transfer For Post-Game ServiceThe special-event fare paid to get to Monster Park (Candlestick) for the game is good for a round trip. Please keep the football transfer issued upon boarding as proof of payment for your return trip. Without the Special-Event Ticket, you will have to pay a return fare of $3.00 on Muni after the game. Changes for 2006 SeasonNo major changes. Service from outside of San FranciscoFor transit service to the ballpark from other locations in the Bay Area, call 511. Bay Area transit information can also be found on the 511 Transit web site. BART riders: BART-to-Muni discount coupons are not valid for special service to Monster Park (Candlestick).
Ferry riders: From the Ferry Building, walk 1/2 mile southwest, or take Muni line 21 or 31 from Steuart and Market, out Market Street to Sutter & Sansome, where you catch Muni's 9X line to Monster Park (Candlestick). Caltrain riders: Take Caltrain to Millbrae, then take BART to Balboa Park Station, then catch Muni's 28X line on Geneva Avenue to Monster Park (Candlestick). Or, take Caltrain to San Francisco Station at 4th & Townsend. Then choose one of the following:
Or, take Caltrain to 22nd Street Station, walk east to Third Street and south to 23rd. Ride the T-Third south to 3rd & Gilman/Paul station, and transfer to the Football Shuttle to Monster Park (Candlestick). AC Transit riders: Take AC Transit to San Francisco's Transbay Terminal and walk to Sutter & Sansome Streets where you catch Muni's 9X line to Monster Park (Candlestick) OR catch line 5, 6 or 38 at the terminal and transfer to line 9X at Market and Stockton/4th Streets. Golden Gate bus riders: Take Golden Gate Transit Geary lines to Van Ness & McAllister or Van Ness lines to Van Ness & Sutter, where you can catch Muni's 47X line to Monster Park (Candlestick). Or take Golden Gate Transit's 49ers service. SamTrans riders: Transfer to BART or Caltrain, or take SamTrans's 49ers service.
