Routes and schedules

Muni service restored Sept. 4, 2010

Muni operates 80 routes throughout San Francisco with stops within 2 blocks of 90% of all residences in the city.  Some of Muni’s routes operate 24 hour a day. You can plan a trip on Muni using the transit.511.org Trip Planner (or accessible version) or Google Transit.  For telephone information call the San Francisco 311 Customer Service Center.

NextMuni is a computerized system that uses Global Positioning System (GPS) technology to trace the movement of  Muni vehicles to predict their arrival times and post that information on line or on the electronic displays at all Metro stations and some bus shelters. The system is available system-wide.

Complete schedules for regular service are available on the Muni schedules page at transit.511.orgshortcuts are available for specific Muni lines. Schedule information is also available by calling the San Francisco 311 Customer Service Center. Printed timetables are not currently available.
