Take Muni to AT&T Park for Giants® baseball!

Major points:

  • Muni Metro (Market Street subway) is the easiest way to get to and from the ballpark and involves the least walking.
  • Take any train going to Mission Bay or Caltrain. Alight at King & 2nd:
    • N-Judah toward Caltrain
    • T-Third toward Sunnydale
    • Shuttle from Embarcadero
  • Transferring from ferries? Use Embarcadero Station.
  • Transferring from BART? There are two Muni sales tables at Embarcadero Station, one at each BART exit for two hours before each game. Go to the sales table inside the BART paid area, the part of the station within the fare gates, to get your Muni ticket.
  • Transferring from Caltrain? AT&T Park is one very long block from the Caltrain station. If you would prefer to ride, take Line N east from the station on King at 4th or Line T north from the station on 4th at King; then alight at 2nd & King.
  • Muni transfers will be sold at the designated Giants sales windows located outside AT&T Park.
    • Sales of transfers will start two hours before game time, run until game time, and resume from the 6th inning.
    • You will need to wait until you leave the ballpark to purchase your return fare.
    • Giants sales windows accept cash only for adult or senior/youth/discount fare.
    • BART discount coupons are accepted.
  • There will be an Ballpark Shuttle after the game from the ballpark to Embarcadero Station. J, L, and M customers can transfer at Embarcadero Station. Most K and N customers will have direct service from the ballpark (K customers have direct service via the T-line).
  • You must have proof of payment before entering the Metro platform area at the ballpark. You can not buy tickets at the Metro platform. If you don't have a valid pass or transfer, you must purchase one at a Giants sales window.
  • Arrive early to avoid delays at change machines.
  • Questions? Muni's service quality team in brightly colored vests are ready to help.

You can take regular Muni service OR special Muni Metro service to the ballpark.

To Giants Games

Regular Service to the ballpark:

The following lines offer regular service to the ballpark. Links are to schedules at transit.511.org.

The T-THIRD and N-JUDAH Metro lines provide regular service to the ballpark from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily. But you may take any train going to Mission Bay, Caltrain, or Sunnydale to get to the ballpark. Proof of Payment is in effect on Muni Metro.

Route 10 provides regular service to the ballpark area, from before 6 a.m. until around 7:00 p.m., weekdays, and until 10:00 p.m. on weekends.

All of rail lines and bus routes are accessible. A list of accessible surface stops on the N-JUDAH line west of the Metro subway is available. All stops on the T-THIRD line (West Portal through Sunnydale) are accessible.

Regular Muni fares apply for ballpark service.

Special service to the ballpark:

Special Metro Ballpark Service operates on game days only, starting about 2 hours before games, making local subway stops and continuing to the ballpark. These trains have their destination as "Mission Bay" or "Caltrain". Depending on service needs on a given day, they may begin at West Portal, Castro, Van Ness, or Embarcadero. Any train to Mission Bay, Caltrain or Sunnydale will take you to the ballpark.

If you miss the "Special", or are on the J, L or M lines, you may take any Embarcadero-bound train inbound to Van Ness Station and transfer to a Caltrain-bound train at the same platform.

Proof of Payment is in effect on Muni Metro.
Regular Muni fares apply for ballpark service.

Muni customers taking Metro in the subway are encouraged to board at the stations between Castro and Van Ness whenever possible, to avoid the congestion caused by the many people boarding at the downtown stations.

This service is accessible.

How to get to the ballpark from within S.F.

From northern San Francisco, take route 9X, 10, 30, 45 or 47 directly to the ballpark. Or take other Muni service to Market Street, and transfer to any train going to Mission Bay or Caltrain.

Transfering from other agencies

From BART to Muni From ferries to Muni (on the fares page)
From Caltrain to Muni From other agencies to Muni (on the fares page)

From BART to Muni:

  1. Get off BART at Embarcadero Station.
  2. Before exiting the BART paid area, go to the Muni sales table. Purchase your Muni fare at this table. Fares are as follows:
    • Adult fare, one way: $1.25 for a 90-minute transfer.
    • Adult fare, round-trip: $2.50 for full-length transfer. Good for 2 hours after the game.
    • The above fares only apply when purchased within BART at the Muni sales table. The one-way fare applies at Muni fare gates with a valid BART-to-Bus discount coupon.
    • Youth/Senior/Discount fare, one way: $0.50 for 90-minute transfer. This transfer has a special hole punched in it; you will need to show valid ID on request if using this transfer as proof of payment.
    • Youth/Senior/Discount fare, round-trip: $1.00 for "Your Ticket Home!" Good for 2 hours after the game. This ticket has a special hole punched in it; you will need to show valid ID on request if using this transfer as proof of payment.
  3. Show your Muni transfer to Muni staff as you enter the Muni paid area of Embarcadero Station. Also show valid ID if using a Youth/Senior/Discount fare.
  4. Go down to the platform. Muni personnel will direct you to the ballpark trains, or you can look for signs to the ballpark or to Mission Bay. Board any train marked Caltrain or Mission Bay, and ride to 2nd and King (the 3rd station after leaving Embarcadero).
  5. If you don't purchase your round-trip fare before the game, adult-fare passengers returning to BART on Muni must pay the regular fare (less 25¢ if you've kept the Muni-to-BART discount coupon). Seniors, disabled, and youth pay the one-way discounted fare. You will need to wait until you leave the ballpark to purchase your return fare at the Giants sales windows. There will be two sales windows on each end of the ballpark selling Muni transfers.

To transfer from BART to Muni at other stations, or to transfer to Muni from other agencies, see the Fares page section on transfering onto Muni from other transit agencies.

BART customers are strongly encouraged to transfer to Muni at Embarcadero Station, and to obtain your ticket to ride Muni before you exit BART .

From Caltrain to Muni

For most customers, there is no need to take Muni from the Caltrain station at 4th and Townsend. AT&T Park is one very long block from the station. Exit toward the right after you pass through the doors into the Caltrain station from the platform.

If you would prefer to ride, you can take Line N east (outbound) from the Muni station on King Street at 4th or Line T north (outbound) from the Muni station on 4th Street just south of King. Take the Muni Metro vehicle to 2nd and King. Regular fares apply and are subject to Proof of Payment inspection.

Leaving the Ballpark

Regular T-line and N-line service will operate as scheduled throughout the game. Special Metro service will begin during the 7th inning or as needed. The special ballpark service will go at least to Embarcadero Station where customers may transfer to regular Metro service. It will continue to pick up customers from King Street until all waiting customers have been accommodated.

A limited number of L- and M-line trips may be available directly from the ballpark.

For Metro service, please purchase a transfer if you do not already have a valid pass, ticket or transfer. Transfers are available at the Giants Sales windows located outside AT&T Park. Proof of Payment is required on Muni Metro. Fares are as follows:

  • Adult fare, one way: $1.50 for a full-length transfer. Good for 2 hours after the game.
  • Youth/Senior/Discount fare, one way: $0.50 for a full-length transfer. Good for 2 hours after the game. This transfer has a special hole punched in it; you will need to show valid ID on request if using this transfer as proof of payment.

Please be prepared to show your Proof of Payment to Muni staff working the entrance lines to Muni Metro. If you do not have proof of payment, you will be sent back to the Giants sales window to purchase a ticket.

  • Muni tokens or token coupons cannot be used at this time to purchase proof of payment at the Giants sales window.
  • "Muni to BART" discount coupons may be used.
  • "Muni to Ferry" tickets are valid proof of payment for returning from AT&T Park to Embarcadero BART via the shuttle.

The Muni Proof of Payment transfers automatically issued at the Metro turnstiles (usually green, blue, pink or orange) will most likely be expired at this time. Check the time stamped on your transfer. If it's expired, vendors at the Giants sales windows will sell you a transfer for your return trip.

You may also use regular bus service, route 30 or 45, which stop at 4th and Townsend and 3rd and Brannan Streets; Route 47, which stops at 4th and Townsend; or Route 10 which stops at Townsend and both 3rd and 2nd Streets. All of these routes are accessible.
