CLAYTON AREA TRAFFIC CALMING PROJECT This project was made possible in part by the San Francisco County Transportation Authority through a grant of Proposition K Local Transportation Sales Tax funds. Updated 1/27/12 COMMUNITY MEETING #2 HELD The second Community Meeting for the Clayton Area Traffic Calming Project was held on January 25, 2012. The SFMTA project managers met with residents of the neighborhood again to present proposed traffic calming treatments in the area. Most of the ideas were met with positive reception by the residents. Many questions were answered on the details of the traffic calming devices and suggestions were given on additional locations to look at. Because of the number of residents that requested improvements on Frederick Street (particularly at the Clayton and Ashbury Street intersections), the SFMTA will collect more data on the area and determine the best method for traffic calming at those locations. Links to the presentation and meeting minutes can be found below: Community Meeting #2 Presentation (pdf) The SFMTA project managers will recommend the traffic calming treatments mentioned at the community meeting as well as investigate for further improvements, particularly on Frederick Street. The traffic calming recommendations will be compiled into a report which will be presented to the SFMTA Board for approval. The final report for the Clayton Area Traffic Calming Project is scheduled to be completed by mid-2012. Once the final report is adopted, funding can be sought that will be used for final design and construction.
