Potrero Hill Traffic Calming ProjectThis project was made possible in part by the San Francisco County Transportation Authority through a grant of Proposition K Local Sales Tax Funds. Project UpdateUpdated 12/13/12. Thanks to all who have participated in the community process for this project. The final report for this project is available here: The SFMTA Traffic Calming Program is in the process of seeking funds and implementing the recommended changes. Below is an updated table showing the current status of several of the measures identified in the Potrero Hill Final Report:
Project Area MapProject area is bounded by US 101, Interstate 280, 16th Street and Cesar Chavez Street.
Project MaterialsThe Community Working Groups (CWG) for the North and South Potrero Hill project areas have met and helped create the final proposals for Potrero Hill. Please see the Powerpoint PDF at the top of this page for more information. Minutes of first CWG meeting #1 for Potrero Hill South (May 24, 2007) Minutes of the second CWG meeting #2 for Potrero Hill South (January 30, 2008) Issue #1 - March 2007 - Potrero Hill Traffic Calming Newsletter (PDF file) Speed Hump Ballot ResultsThe Final Report for this project area has called for the installation of one or more speed humps. Ballots for these speed humps were sent out in July 2010. Per the SFMTA Traffic Calming Guidelines, speed humps will be installed where a majority of residents on the block of the proposed speed hump voted in favor of the hump. The table below shows the percent of ballots returned for the block and the percent of those responses for and against each speed hump proposed in this project area.
Where respondents have approved a speed hump, we will now determine if there is a suitable location for its installation. If a location on the block is found to be consistent with SFMTA guidelines, we will then schedule a public hearing and post notices of the hearing on your block. Public hearing approval is required for any new speed hump construction.
