The Department of Parking and Traffic is an agency dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the residents of San Francisco by encouraging the efficient movement of people and goods throughout the City. We are a customer-service organization working to improve traffic safety, management and awareness while supporting public transit and offering parking opportunities in our neighborhoods.

Construction in San Francisco
A common complaint from callers is that parking has been taken by contractors and on-going construction projects. Permits for posting no parking signs at these projects are actually not issued by DPT. Concerns regarding these permits should be referred to the Department of Public Works' Street Construction Coordination Center at 415.554.7222.
