Did you know? You can legally block your own driveway by parking parallel to the curb within your driveway’s curb cut. You may get a ticket, however, if you park in your driveway perpendicular to the curb and any part of your vehicle obstructs the sidewalk or other public right of way due to the hazards this type of parking poses to pedestrians and cyclists. Did you know? It’s safe practice—and the law—to curb your wheels. To properly curb your wheels, turn the downhill side of your wheels toward the curb when parking on a hill with a slope greater than 3%, which is steep enough for a pencil to roll down. Curbing your wheels will help to prevent your car from accidentally rolling downhill while unattended. Did you know? Parking against the direction of traffic is a vehicle code violation.
