The card is available for use in approximately 23,000 single-space and 250 multi-space electronic meters in San Francisco. The cards will work in all San Francisco meters except on Port of San Francisco property. There is no expiration date on the use of these cards.

Parking Meter Card Frequently Asked Questions

1. My meter card does not work. Can I get a refund or replacement card? Try inserting the card into an adjacent meter; if the meter display reads "processing" and balance on the card is shown, remove card immediately. If the card is valid and the meter you are attempting to use does not accept the card you may insert coins to park legally. If the card balance does not show on the second meter, there may a technical problem with the smart chip on the card. Please contact 311 using their electronic form. No replacements will be issued for Parking Cards altered or damaged after sale.

2. Can I add value to my meter card? No. Value cannot be added to cards.

3. Can I purchase meter cards online? Yes. There is a limit of 5 cards and a maximum value of $200 per order. A $2.50 shipping and handling fee applies to each order. Buy Parking Cards online.

4. Can I purchase parking meter cards in bulk for my company or employees? Yes. Please e-mail Revenue.Sales@sfmta.com or call 311 (415.701.2311 outside of San Francisco.
