Start date: Jan. 26, 2010 End date: TBA, 2010 Area affected: Eastbound Market Street between 10th and 6th Streets Traffic traveling eastbound (toward the Ferry Terminal) on Market Street will be diverted as shown on the map below: 1. Eastbound traffic at 10th Street will be required to turn right 2. Eastbound traffic at 8th Street will no longer be required to turn right 3. Traffic entering eastbound Market Street between 10th and 7th Streets will be required to turn right onto 6th Street Westbound traffic on Market Street (toward Van Ness Avenue) will not be affected. Transit, taxis, delivery vehicles and bicycles will continue to travel in both directions on Market Street. All traffic on streets crossing Market Street will continue as normal. Market Street can become a place where people can gather, spend time and enjoy the sights of the city, as well as a convenient way to access transit, connect by bicycle and walk to diverse destinations along the corridor. The traffic pilot studies are one part of the City’s larger effort to rethink how to make Market Street a better place to be.
