This year's celebration site is once again in the Civic Center area. It is a two day event with a smaller number of street closures for Saturdays event and a much larger series of street closures for Sundays event.

Note: Please see the separate listing for the Pride Parade for the street closures connected with that event.

Beginning on Friday, June 26th at 9 AM the following streets will be closed: Grove Street between Polk and Larkin Streets will be closed until Monday, June 29th at 6 AM. Fulton Street between Hyde and Larkin Streets will be closed until Monday, June 29th at Noon.

Beginning on Friday, June 26th at 8 PM until Monday, June 30th at 6 AM the following streets will be closed:

Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place between McAllister and Grove Streets; Polk Street between Grove and Hayes Streets; Lech Walesa Street between Van Ness Avenue and Polk Street; Larkin Street between Hayes Street and Golden Gate Avenue; Grove Street between Hyde and Van Ness Avenue; Intersections: Grove and Polk; Polk and Lech Walesa; Grove and Larkin. Note: The intersection of McAllister and Larkin will remain open until 8 PM on Saturday.

All Northbound traffic coming from 9th Street will be directed to use Hayes Street to either Van Ness Avenue or Franklin Street. Southbound traffic at Polk Street should use Golden Gate Avenue to Hyde Street until Saturday evening when both Hyde Street and Golden Gate will be closed.

On Saturday, June 27th at 5 AM, Hyde Street will close between McAllister and Market Streets.

On Saturday, June 27th at 8 PM, the following streets will also be closed until Monday morning at 6 AM. The additional street closures are to provide a larger celebration area for the anticipated crowd of several hundred thousand people on Sunday.

Hyde Street between Turk and McAllister Streets; McAllister Street between Leavenworth and Van Ness Avenue; Redwood Street between Van Ness Avenue and Polk Street; Golden Gate Avenue between Leavenworth and Van Ness Avenue; Elm Street between Polk Street and Van Ness Avenue; Polk Street between Turk to McAllister; Polk Street between Hayes and Market (HAYES STREET WILL REMAIN OPEN); Larkin Street from Golden Gate Avenue to McAllister Streets; Intersections: McAllister and Polk Streets; McAllister and Larkin Streets; McAllister and Hyde Streets; Redwood and Polk Streets; Golden Gate and Polk; Golden Gate and Larkin; Golden Gate and Hyde.

In summary: from Saturday at 8 PM to Monday at 6 AM, the area bounded by Van Ness Avenue, Turk Street, Market Street (EXCEPT FOR HAYES STREET), and Leavenworth Street will be closed.

Event participants are strongly encouraged to take public transportation or their bicycles to this event as parking and traffic will be extremely difficult.

On Saturday and Sunday, there will be unmonitored bicycle parking in front of the library on Grove Street between Larkin and Hyde. ON SUNDAY ONLY, monitored bicycle parking will be located on Hastings Plaza on the northeast corner of Hyde and McAllister Street. The SF Bike Coalition will staff the bicycle parking Please take advantage of this service.

There will be several taxi zones created on Van Ness Avenue in front of City Hall and on the north side of Market Street between Hayes and Polk near the Post Office.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the Civic Center area as there will be extreme congestion especially on Sunday. Public Transportation will be the best way to get around the Parade and Celebration site during SF Pride weekend.

If you are coming from the East Bay, Mission District or Daly City we recommend that you use BART. Please disembark at Civic Center for the Celebration site. Please use the Civic Center, Powell and Montgomery Street stations to access the Parade route.

If you are coming from the Peninsula or Santa Clara County we recommend that you use CALTRAIN and take the train to the last stop on Fourth Street. The Parade route is either a short walk to the Parade or a fast MUNI trip to the Celebration site. Contact CALTRAIN at 800-660-4287 for the latest information and schedules.

If you are coming from the North Bay we recommend that you use the ferry service from Sausalito, Tiberon or Vallejo. Contact Golden Gate Transit at 415-453-2100 for information and schedules.

If you live in San Francisco we recommend using MUNI, or walking! All trains stop at the Civic Center for the Celebration site and at Civic Center, Powell and Montgomery Streets for the Parade route. Extra buses will be operating from the Castro District as well as the Sunset and Richmond Districts. After the Parade extra buses will be available at Market and 10th for the return home.
