West Approach/Bay Bridge Retrofit

The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge carries about 280,000 vehicles a day. It is being retrofitted by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to meet life-line service standards, which means the bridge should be available for use by emergency response vehicles after a major earthquake.

Non-Street-Related Construction in San Francisco
A common complaint from callers is that neighborhood parking has been taken by contractors and on-going construction projects. Permits for posting "no parking" signs at these projects are actually not issued by DPT. Concerns regarding these permits should be referred to the Department of Public Works' Street Construction Coordination Center at 415.554.7222.
