First one-fifth mile or flag

Out-of-town trips

For out-of-town trips exceeding 15 miles beyond the City limits, the fare will be 150 percent of the metered rate. For trips exceeding 15 miles from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and not terminating within the City limits, the fare will be 150 percent of the metered rate except for those trips from SFO traversing through San Francisco going to Marin County or to the East Bay; the 15-mile limit will apply from the City limits of San Francisco as set forth above.

  • No luggage surcharge.
  • Passenger pays bridge toll(s).
  • Drivers may collect fare in advance for trips out of SFO and Oakland Airport.

Fare disputes

(a)  In case of a fare dispute, the driver shall convey the passenger to the nearest police station.

(b)  A fare receipt must be made available upon request.

Lost and Found

What to do if you have lost an item in a cab:

1) If you know what cab company you lost your item in, contact the cab company directly

2) Contact 311 (calling from San Francisco) or 415.701.2311 (Calling from Outside of San Francisco) to report the lost item and receive an incident number

3) If a match is made, SFMTA- Taxis will contact you

4) If you do not hear from SFMTA- Taxis, please call 415.701.4400 and have:

    • Your 311 incident number
    • A description of the item
    • Date of when your item was lost
