How to spot a real San Francisco taxi

• “San Francisco Taxicab” is written on the side and rear of each taxi.
  
  
• A small metal “license plate” is on the dashboard of each taxi.
  
• The driver's ID will be visible from the back seat.

Benefits of choosing a real San Francisco taxi

• All vehicles undergo safety and meter inspections.
• Drivers are required to take extensive training, including street navigation, and are subject to background checks.
• Taxis are insured.
• You are supporting your local taxi drivers by using their service.

Beware of Illegal limousines

• Limousines are legally required to prearrange all rides.
• It is illegal for a limousine to solicit customers on the street.

• Please do not take matters into your own hands.  For complaints, call the San Francisco 3-1-1 Customer Service Center.
