Hyde Street Quick-Build - August 1, 2023 Update
Thank you for participating in the Hyde Quick-Build Open House this summer. A preferred design recommendation for Hyde Street between Geary and McAllister will be made later this summer followed by approvals this fall and construction soon after. Stay tuned for a project update that summarizes outreach to date and next steps.
In the meantime, as part of the Hyde Street Transit Lane Project, a proposed transit lane on Hyde Street between McAllister and Market streets will go to public hearing on August 18. This Hyde Street transit lane proposal is in anticipation of increased traffic congestion expected during the 2023 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit taking place in mid-November. Installing a transit lane will help ensure people who rely on transit are able to get where they are going reliably during this event and into the future.
