Cesar Chavez Parade & Festival: April 29, 2023

The annual Cesar Chavez Parade and Festival will take place on Saturday in The Mission. Streets will be closed and Muni will reroute around the event. Read below for more detailed information.

Street Closures

These streets will be closed starting at 7 a.m. for Parade Formation and Festival Setup

  • 24th St, between Folsom and Bryant
  • Treat, Harrison, Alabama, & Florida between 23rd and 25th streets

These streets will be closed starting at 11 a.m. for the Parade Route

  • 19th St, between Guerrero and Mission
  • Mission, between 19th and 24th streets
  • 24th St, between Mission and Folsom

The Parade is estimated to end between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.,  the Festival will end at 7 p.m. Folsom will remain open for north-south traffic. Streets will reopen once they are clear. 

Muni Impact Summary

These Muni routes will be temporarily rerouted around the closed streets. Reroutes start at different times. Service will return to normal after the events are over and streets are reopened.

There will be no alternative northbound stops available between Folsom/Cesar Chavez and 24th/Mission.

Passengers intending to board BART at the 24th/Mission station should transfer to the 14/14R or 49 (following the alternate stop information for those routes included in this table) and board BART at the 16th/Mission station.
