Bay To Breakers and Asian Heritage

Following a busy Mother’s Day weekend, there will be no rest for the weary as Bay To Breakers and the Asian Heritage Street Festival offer up the opportunity to gather with friends, maybe make some new ones, and have a great time in the city.

Asian Heritage Street Festival
Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Civic Center

Showcasing the beauty and diversity of Asian and Pacific Islander culture, the Asian Heritage Street Festival is the largest gathering of its kind in the nation. See traditional attire, try delicious cuisine, enjoy music and dance performances and much more. As part of the festivities, the Asian Art Museum will have free admission between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Help ease street congestion by taking public transportation. Muni service on the 19 Polk, 21 Hayes, 47 Van Ness, and 49 Mission/Van Ness routes will get you close. Muni Metro service to Van Ness Station is also an option.

Muni service note: While there will be no re-routes, service in the area may experience minor delays due to increased ridership.

Howard and Main streets to Ocean Beach

If you are a serious runner or just like pretending to be one, then the Bay To Breakers is the race for you. This highly anticipated race brings together a collection of competitive runners, joggers, walkers, costumed revelers and families creating a unique experience that could only be in San Francisco.

There will be both pre- and post-event supplemental Muni service.

Pre-event service will run between 5:30 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. on the following routes:

  • 5R Fulton Rapid
  • NX Judah Express bus 
  • N Judah
  • K Ingleside

Post-event supplemental service will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • 5 Fulton Express
  • 5R Fulton Rapid
  • NX Judah Express bus
  • N Judah Line

Please note that regular service fares will apply to supplemental and express service. Be sure to load up your Clipper Card ahead of time, and remember cash value on Clipper can be used on any Bay Area transit system.
