For this Weekend: Doyle Drive Shutdown, Sunday Streets & More

Wednesday, July 8, 2015

News & Notes:

Construction Project Reminders:

Doyle Drive will shut down tomorrow at 10 p.m. and continues until 5 a.m., Monday. For complete project and closure details, visit the Presidio Parkway website. During the closure, Muni service on the 28 19th Avenue will be re-routed and there will be no 76X Marin Headlands Express service. Expect heavy traffic along the corridors of 19th Avenue, Geary Boulevard and California Street.

Also, Sunset Tunnel  work resumes this Friday at 7 p.m. and continues until 2 a.m., Monday. Bus shuttles will provide N Judah Line service between Duboce Avenue and Church Street and Ocean Beach. During construction, Nextbus time predictions for the N Line will not be available.

Events:

Don’t forget the San Francisco Giants continue their last home stand before the All-Star break with games against the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, with a game today as well as Friday, Saturday and Sunday. As always, Muni provides service that will get you to and from the ballpark.

Phono Del Sol
Saturday, Noon to 7 p.m.
Potrero Del Sol Park
Potrero Avenue and Cesar Chavez Street

Enjoy what should be a warm and mild Saturday at the Phono Del Sol Music and Food Festival. The music stage will feature an eclectic mix of musical acts ranging from experimental pop to garage rock. The culinary treats will be supplied by a baker’s dozen of food trucks ranging from traditional trucks like tacos and BBQ to specialties like bacon and vegan.

Muni service on the 9 San Bruno, 10 Townsend, 33 Ashbury/18th, and 48 Quintara/24th will get to the park or close to it.

Muni service note: Muni routes near the park may see an increase in ridership.

Sunday Streets
Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tenderloin

The fifth Sunday Streets of the 2015 season will take place in the Tenderloin, which happens to have the highest number of families with children in the city. So what better place to have a kid’s bike swap, large scale Lego build, face painting, and much more. In addition to live music, food and wellness demos, District Supervisor Jane Kim will be on hand for a meet and greet will residents and visitors alike.

Due to street closures and increased pedestrian traffic, it is recommended that you use public transit. 5 Fulton, 19 Polk, 27 Bryant, 31 Balboa, 38 Geary, 38R Geary Rapid, 47 Van Ness, and 49 Van Ness/Mission routes will get you close to all the festivities. The event is also convenient to the Civic Center Muni Metro/BART Station.

Muni service note: the 19 Polk, 27 Bryant, and 31 Balboa will have re-routes.
