July 4th Muni Service
On July 4, Muni will operate on a Sunday schedule. Several North Beach routes will also be rerouted around the viewing areas for the fireworks show.

Sunday Schedule
Muni will run on a Sunday schedule on July 4, Independence Day.
The following bus routes will not run:
NX, 1AX, 1BX, 5R, 8AX, 8BX, 9R, 14X, 28R, 30X, 31AX, 31BX, 38AX, 38BX, 41, 81X, 82X, 83X, 88, 714.
The 76X Marin Headlands Express will run.
Supplemental school-day service will not run.
All other bus routes and rail lines will use the Sunday schedule. The Muni Metro will open at 8 a.m. instead of 5 a.m.

Muni Reroutes
Several Muni lines and routes will be rerouted around the fireworks viewing area until the end of service. Many routes will switchback--changing from inbound to outbound--before they reach the event area. The table below summarizes the changes to each route and when each line or route starts it reroute.

Notes

The California Cable Car will be replaced with a bus starting at 2 p.m.
The 27 Bryant may have to reroute due to informal fireworks displays in the evening. If this is necessary, the reroutes will be:
- Inbound to Downtown: On York, between 20th and 18th streets
- Outbound to The Mission: On Florida, between 18th and 20th streets
The 43 Masonic may experience delays due to crowds starting at 7 p.m.
