Powell Pilot Regulations Up For Permanent Approval

The SFMTA is considering permanently adopting the traffic and parking regulations introduced in the Powell Safety Pilot. This follows a successful 18-month pilot which showed that the regulations improved traffic safety and reduced wear on the cable car's mechanical parts. The SFMTA Board is expected to consider this reauthorization at its meeting on July 18, 2017 at 1 PM. In addition a public hearing for these regulations is expected to be held on June 16, 2017 at 10 AM.
