Van Ness sidewalk tree order approved

After consideration of letters and testimonies presented at a hearing August 24, 2015, Public Works Order No: 186059 has been approved for the removal and replacement of 96 sidewalk trees along the Van Ness Improvement Project corridor from Lombard to Mission streets. This order allows for a two-to-one replacement of trees that have been identified to be in poor health, contain poor structure, pose public safety concerns, have root systems that are prone to damage sidewalks and/or the species are not tolerant of sidewalk and curb repair work.

This Order may be appealed to the Board of Appeals by July 5, 2017.
