Following Summer Schedule, Muni is Reverting Back to Pre-July Schedule

Thursday, August 15, 2013

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), which manages transportation in the city, including the Municipal Railway (Muni), today announced that it is reverting back to pre-July schedule following a summer service adjustments.  To account for less ridership during the months of July and August, as San Francisco schools were on summer break, Muni implemented minor frequency changes.

As part of the SFMTA’s Strategic Plan, the Agency is committed to making limited schedule adjustments during seasonal ridership lulls in order to be more efficient with public funds. Similar small frequency changes were made during Spring Break and between Christmas and New Year’s Day and helped reduce maintenance costs, fuel consumption and improved operating efficiency.

The following lines will revert to their pre-July schedules as of Saturday, August 17.

Service changes:

  • 14 Mission
  • All day: Frequency change from 10 to 8 minutes
  • No change to 14L Mission Limited and 14X Mission Express
  • 49 Mission-Van Ness
