Board Moves Ahead on Key SF Initiatives

Wednesday, March 4, 2015

You can be forgiven for not watching all of yesterday's 7-hour (plus!) SFMTA Board of Directors meeting. That's a lot of transportation talk even for us. The long day, though, meant that a lot got done.

The chock-full agenda covered everything from accepting regional transportation funds for pedestrian improvements on Ocean Avenue, near Balboa Park Station, to approving the greatly anticipated Polk St. Project, which supports the city's Vision Zero policy. Read our detailed Polk St. post here.

We are grateful to the scores of San Franciscans who took the time to come to the meeting and provide feedback on all of the important matters on the agenda. In addition to the Polk St. Project, the Board approved the creation of the first new Residential Parking Permit area in more than five years, RPP Area Q.
