This Weekend: Muni Heritage, Sunday Streets, Buses on the N and More
This weekend is jam-packed with fun options for all ages. Muni Heritage Weekend will celebrate San Francisco's transit history, Sunday Streets heads to the Western Addition, Gharardelli Chocolate hosts a festival showcasing what it does best, and the SF Deltas play a soccer game this Saturday evening at Kezar Stadium.
Also, a reminder that the N Judah will be substituted by bus shuttles between Ocean Beach and Duboce & Church for construction starting this weekend, for five weekends. Read more about our featured events below.

Muni Heritage Weekend
Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
SF Railway Museum
Each year, the SFMTA and Market Street Railway spruce up some of our rarer historic vehicles from decades past to celebrate the city's unique transit legacy on Muni Heritage Weekend. To celebrate the 100-year anniversaries of the J Church Line and Muni bus service, you can take free rides on vintage buses, built from 1938 to 1990, as well as three special streetcars. The center of the action will be at the SF Railway Museum on Steuart Street, between Market and Mission streets.
How to Get There on Muni: Any Muni Metro line, the E Embarcadero and F Market and Wharves lines and the 2 Clement, 3 Jackson, 5 Fulton, 6 Haight/Parnassus, 7 Haight/Noriega, 9 San Bruno, 14 Mission/14R Mission Rapid, 21 Hayes, 38 Geary/38R Geary Rapid and 41 Union routes will get riders close to the event.
Muni Service Notes: There are no planned reroutes for this event, though Muni Metro lines and the E, F, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 14/14R, 21, 38/38R and 41 may see delays due to increased ridership.
Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival
Saturday and Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m.
Ghirardelli Square
Visit the Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival this weekend for the best the chocolate masters have to offer and more. Festival goers will have a chance to enjoy the Ghirardelli Chocolate Lounge with samples from local wineries, breweries, spirits and gourmet dessert vendors, partake in the Chocolate Earthquake ice cream eating contest, and attend "Chocolate School" for a tour of the chocolate making process from bean to bar. All profits from the festival will be donated to Project Open Hand, a nonprofit organization that provides meals to seniors and the critically ill.
How to Get There on Muni: The E Embarcadero and F Market and Wharves lines and the 19 Polk, 28 19th Avenue, 30 Stockton, 47 Van Ness and 49 Van Ness/Mission routes will take riders close to Ghirardelli Square.
Muni Service Note: There are no planned reroutes for this event, but the E, F, 19, 28, 30, 47 and 49 may see delays due to increased ridership.
Sunday Streets Western Addition
Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Western Addition
This month's edition of Sunday Streets brings the car-free fun to the Western Addition neighborhood. The route will create open streets with activities on stretches of Fillmore Street, Fulton Street (along the northern side of Alamo Square Park) and Baker Street. Come enjoy a fun and relaxing day in the neighborhood.
How to Get There on Muni: The 5 Fulton, 21 Hayes, 22 Fillmore, 24 Divisadero, 31 Balboa and 38 Geary/38R Geary Rapid routes will take riders close to the event.
Muni Service Notes: The 22 will have a reroute while the 5, 21, 24, 31 and 38/38R may see delays and crowding due to increased ridership.
Reminder: N Judah Bus Substitutions
For five weekends beginning this Friday at 8 p.m., N Judah rail service will be substituted by bus shuttles between Ocean Beach and Duboce & Church for construction on the Inner Sunset Streetscape Improvement Project. N trains will continue to run in the Muni Metro Subway to Caltrain during these times. For details, check out our service alert page.
Reminder: J Church Stop Changes at Balboa Park
Due to construction for the Balboa Park Station Area and Plaza Improvement Project, the J Church Line will continue to serve alternate stops on San Jose Avenue until the fall. For details, please visit our Green Light Rail Center Track Replacement Project page.
