Muni Heritage Weekend

Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
SF Railway Museum

Each year, the SFMTA and Market Street Railway spruce up some of our rarer historic vehicles from decades past to celebrate the city's unique transit legacy on Muni Heritage Weekend. To celebrate the 100-year anniversaries of the J Church Line and Muni bus service, you can take free rides on vintage buses, built from 1938 to 1990, as well as three special streetcars. The center of the action will be at the SF Railway Museum on Steuart Street, between Market and Mission streets.

Festival goers will have a chance to enjoy the Ghirardelli Chocolate Lounge with samples from local wineries, breweries, spirits and gourmet dessert vendors, partake in the Chocolate Earthquake ice cream eating contest, and attend "Chocolate School" for a tour of the chocolate making process from bean to bar. All profits from the festival will be donated to Project Open Hand, a nonprofit organization that provides meals to seniors and the critically ill.
