Utility Investigation on Taraval

To prepare for construction of the L Taraval Rapid project, crews will be on Taraval Street between 15th and 46th avenues over the next few weeks inspecting underground utilities to determine the exact alignments of underground pipes and wires.

What to expect

To do this work, there will be minor lane closures and temporary parking restrictions at each location. Each trench will take approximately three days from the start of digging until they are patched and ready for normal use. The whole investigation will last about three weeks and is set to begin on Wednesday, January 10.

This work is necessary to prepare for construction coming to the corridor later this year to make improvements to the Muni trackway, building boarding islands and replace the overhead wires that power trains. Work will include much needed utility upgrades as well.
