Van Ness Avenue Construction Forecast: February 11 - 23, 2018

Emergency Construction Notice

Emergency excavation is ongoing at Van Ness Avenue and Ellis Street due to unforeseen circumstances. Traffic lanes on Van Ness Avenue are unaffected, however Ellis Street eastbound has been reduced to one lane and the western crosswalk at Van Ness and Ellis is closed. Work will continue at this location until the situation is resolved.

Sunday, February 11: Between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., sewer main is expected to be installed in intersections between McAllister and Sutter streets. Crews are expected to pothole for upcoming sewer work from McAllister to Post and from Green to Filbert. Neighbors are advised to anticipate construction-related noise, including grinding, as crews work diligently to complete this necessary night work.

Monday, February 12, through Thursday, February 15: Crews plan to be working on the joint trench to power overhead wires for buses from Turk to Ellis and from Geary to Post. Crews plan to continue pot holing for upcoming sewer work from McAllister to O’Farrell. Work to install sewer is planned from McAllister to Sutter. Installing new overhead wire pole foundations is planned from Jackson to Lombard. Permitted sidewalk tree removal is planned to occur from Jackson to Lombard.

Neighbors are advised to anticipate construction-related noise, including grinding, as crews work diligently to complete this necessary night work.
