Little League Baseball Opening Day Parade

Saturday, 10:00 to 10:30 AM
Presidio

While Spring Training has just kicked off for Major League Baseball, the next generation of potential MLB players will be celebrating their Opening Day this Saturday during the San Francisco Little League Opening Day Parade and Ceremony at the Presidio. A fun event for the families from across the entire league, this year's event will include team photos, a community picnic and a parade for all teams with over 85 decorated vehicles. Players get the opportunity to meet their new coaches and teammates while working together to decorate the parade vehicles before showing off their team spirit in the 30 minute parade through the Presidio into Cow Hollow and back.


How to Get There on Muni: Future All-Stars and their families can take the 28 19th Avenue, 30 Stockton, 41 Union, 43 Masonic, 45 Union/Stockton or the 76X Marin Headlands Express routes to near the start of the parade in the Presidio.

Muni Service Notes: There are no planned service changes for this event, though minor delays may be possible in the area of the parade route.

Lunar New Year Run

Chinatown/Financial District

Start the "Year of the Dog" on an energetic note by taking part in the 40th Annual YMCA Chinese New Year 10K/5K Run. This year’s run will raise money for youth programs stressing fitness, nutrition and wellness education. The race course begins and ends in Chinatown while passing through parts of North Beach, the Financial District and along The Embarcadero. Post-race awards, refreshments and goodie bags will be available at Portsmouth Square, along with best dressed dog contest.

How to Get There on Muni: Participants and spectators alike may take a number of Muni routes into Chinatown, including the Powell Mason and California Cable Car lines, the 1 California, 2 Clement, 3 Jackson, 8 Bayshore, 10 Townsend, 12 Folsom/Pacific, 30 Stockton or the 45 Union/Stockton routes.

Muni Service Notes: The 10 and 12 routes will have reroutes and minor delays may be possible in the areas of the run's route.
