Our first board meeting of the month will have presentations and discussions on:

  • Parking and traffic modifications associated with the 8th Avenue Neighborway Project regarding no left turns, red zones and 45-degree back-in angled parking.

  • Business and Tax Regulations Code to add a new gross receipts tax category for transportation network company services, private transit vehicle services, and autonomous vehicle passenger services.

Our board of directors meetings are usually held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The agenda is posted under “meetings” on the board’s webpage.

MAAC Meeting

Thursday, June 21, 1:00 p.m.
Union Square Conference Room,
Nearby Muni Routes:  5, 6, 7, 9, 19, 47, 49, Van Ness Station

As the SFMTA goes about the process of updating Muni’s buses and trains, MAAC has been front and center in advising the agency on the accessibility features for the new vehicles. For example, MAAC worked with the agency and bus manufacturers on redesigning a longer vehicle ramp on the buses that would allow folks to access to the new low-floor buses from street level, not just the curb. Please join us at our next meeting.  The committee meets the third Thursday of the month from 1 - 3 p.m.

Geary Rapid Project Open House

Thursday, June 21, 6:00 p.m.
627 Turk Street
Nearby Muni Routes: 5, 31, 38, 38R, 47, 49

Join us at the first of two Open Houses for the Geary Rapid Project. The Geary Rapid project aims to improve Muni’s 38 Geary and 38R Geary Rapid bus service and address traffic safety. After receiving initial approvals last year, we are seeking feedback on the project’s near-final design.

Drop in at the first of two Open Houses to see updated designs and share your thoughts with project staff. Attendees will be able to:

  • Review detailed, block-by-block designs. Learn about improvements proposed along Geary and portions of O’Farrell between Market and Stanyan streets, including dedicated bus lanes, bus stop changes and safety treatments.

  • Visit project information stations hosted by project staff who can answer your questions.

  • Complete and submit project feedback to project staff. The SFMTA Board will consider this feedback when evaluating the final design later this summer.

Our Meeting Round-Up feature highlights different SFMTA public meetings that will be held within the coming two weeks. These meetings give you the chance to share your ideas and provide us with helpful feedback. Join us at our next meeting to learn more about SF's changing and complex transportation system.

Those listed above are just a few highlights. You can find a full list of upcoming meetings to keep up to date on your favorite SFMTA committees.
