Parking Restored as Twin Peaks Tunnel Nears Completion

In June, our crews added new bus zones, temporary parking restrictions and changed certain loading zones across the City in support of the 2-month Twin Peaks Tunnel Improvement Project. These changes increased accessibility for those with mobility challenges, improved safety and supported our bus substation plan to keep San Francisco moving while the tunnel was closed.

Thank you for your patience with the temporary changes during this vital transit safety project that benefits the entire city -- especially the 80,000 daily K, L and M customers.

As the project nears substantial completion at the end of August, we will be restoring the previous conditions. Depending on your location this includes:

  • Painting over red curbs
  • Re-installing parking meters
  • Removing “bus zones”
  • Restoring normal parking restrictions

While crews make changes, expect some disruption as they grind old paint and make other adjustments. More information about this project can be found at SFMTA.com/TwinPeaks
