Forest Hill Irrigation Improvements Are Upcoming

Thanks to the community collaboration, the Forest Hill Irrigation Improvement Project is moving forward.

Based on the votes collected through the open house, two pop-up presentations and the online survey, the SFMTA is proposing to keep 50% of the lawn area.

As for the selection of plant palettes, the neighbors preferred the Classical White Garden, however the city-wide online voting was in favor of the Colorful Seasonal Interest. To balance the two choices, we propose a hybrid design that combines both palettes, using the Classical White Garden as a base with Colorful Seasonal Interest plants used as accents.

In summary, we received 50 confirmed votes through online survey. Additional 15 in-person votes were cast at the open house and pop-ups events. For actual vote counts, please see the two pie chats below.

What's next? The project is going into detail design through the end of the year. Bid and award will take place in the spring. Construction will kick off in May 2019 and last for about five months.
