Church Divide Feeder Circuit Project Schedule Extended

Neighborhoods Affected
Route(s) Affected

As the Church Divide Feeder Circuit Upgrade Project continues, sidewalk trenching on the west of Church Street has come across some underground gas and water pipes. This will require us to widen the trench to allow for the installation of the electrical switch and conduits. The added work will push the completion date back for about three weeks until the third week of February.

Additionally, PG&E didn’t approve the plan to include another conduit installation of a private developer in the trench for safety concerns. As a result, the developer will come in to dig a second trench west of ours after our work is done.

During the SFMTA’s construction, the sidewalk will remain open with a path of travel provided for pedestrians. Access to local businesses and residence will be available at all times. Here is what to expect:

  • Work hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

  • Trench will be covered with plywood after work.

  • Noise can be heard during excavation.

To accommodate the work that crosses 14th Street, the 37 Corbett bus stops, both inbound and outbound, will move to the west about half block towards Sanchez Street.

The new feeder circuit system will ensure transit service reliability.
