Van Ness Avenue Construction Forecast: September 7 - September 20, 2019

Those traveling on the corridor are advised to stay alert and allow more travel time during construction. Polk Street, one block east of Van Ness Avenue, is a recommended alternative for people traveling by bicycle in the area.

Tentative schedule:

In the next two weeks crews are scheduled to work on sewer and water main installation, sidewalk replacement, restoring the street base, paving, installing a joint-utility trench, installing light poles, street light conduits and potholing for upcoming work.

The work listed below is scheduled for daytimes, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Planned night work is italicized. The night shift for construction is 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. During this time, neighbors are advised to anticipate construction-related noise and vibrations as crews work diligently to complete necessary night work.

Saturday, September 7

  • Vallejo to Broadway *Intensive noise and vibration is expected
  • Broadway to Pacific *Intensive noise and vibration is expected

  • O'Farrell to Ellis *Intensive noise and vibration is expected. Due to sewer work, access to Olive Street from the east side of Van Ness Avenue will be closed temporarily.

Sunday, September 8

  • McAllister to Grove Night work is scheduled between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Grove to Hayes Night work is scheduled between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
