Details of Work Performed:
  • Continuation of sewer main replacement work is planned for:
    • August 11-14 and August 17-18 between 39th and 38th Avenue (northside)
    • August 13-14 and August 17 between 45th and 44th Avenue (southside)
    • August 10-14 and August 17-18 between 39th and 38th Avenue (northside)
  • Sewer main connection crossing work is planned for the weeks of:
    • August 11-15 and August 17-22 between 46th and 45th Avenue (northside)
    • August 10-14 and August 17-20 between 43rd and 42nd Avenue (northside)
    • August 10-15 and August 17-22 between 37th Avenue and Sunset Boulevard (northside)
    • August 11-15 and August 17-22 between 46th and 45th Avenue (southside)
    • August 10-14 and August 17-20 between 43rd and 42nd Avenue (southside)
    • August 11-15 and August 17-22 between 37th and 36th Avenue (southside)
  • Continuation of sidewalk curb ramp work is planned for:

  • Removal of existing Muni overhead contact system (OCS) is planned for:
    • August 8-14 between 46th Avenue and Sunset Boulevard (northside)
    • August 8-14 between 46th Avenue and Sunset Boulevard (northside)
    • Starting August 23 at 46th Avenue & Vicente Street and 46th Avenue & Wawona Street
  • Removal of electrical cables is planned for:
    • August 8-10 between 44th and 42nd Avenue
    • August 8-10 between 41st and 40th Avenue
    • August 8-10 between 39th and 38th Avenue
    • August 8-10 between 37th Avenue and Sunset Boulevard
  • Transfer of existing overhead wires to temporary wooden poles is planned for:
    • August 16 at 46th Avenue & Vicente Street and 47th Avenue and Wawona Street
  • Replacement of existing guy span wires is planned for:
    • August 17-21 on 46th Avenue between Taraval and Wawona Street 
    • August 17-21 on 47th Avenue between Vicente and Wawona Street 
    • August 17-21 on Vicente and Wawona Street between 46th and 47th Avenue
What to Expect:

Excavation requires jackhammering of the pavement. Dust control measures will be in place to prevent dust kick up from the work.

Heavy vibrations from the shoring and sheet piling work is expected for open trench work.
Location and Time of Work:
  • Northside of Taraval Street between 48th and 36th Avenue; 
  • Southside of Taraval Street between 48th and 36th Avenue
  • Both sides of 46th Avenue between Taraval and Wawona Street, 47th Avenue between Vicente and Wawona Street, and on both Vicente and Wawona Street between 46th and 47th Avenue
  • Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.; Saturday to Sunday 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.
Traffic Impacts:

Some parking will be temporarily restricted in construction zones and traffic lanes will be modified during active work. 
Looking Ahead:  Starting Sunday, August 23 to Thursday, September 3, 2020, construction crew will be replacing components of the Muni overhead contact system (OCS) from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on 46th Avenue between Taraval to Wawona Street, Vicente Street between 46th to 47th Avenue, 47th Avenue between Vicente and Wawona Street, and Wawona Street from 47th to 46th Avenue.

The following two-week construction forecast is subject to change due to weather delays or unexpected field conditions.
