L Taraval Improvement Project Work Forecast September 21 - October 2, 2020

• Pulling of the rails from Lower Great Highway to 37th Avenue is planned for:

• Sewer main work is planned for:

• Continuation of waterline work is planned for:
  
  • September 21-25 and September 28-October 2 between 37th Avenue and Sunset Boulevard
  • September 21-25 between 39th and 38th Avenue
  • September 22-25 and September 28-October 2 between 46th and 45th Avenue
  • September 21-22, September 25-26, and September 28-October 2 between 45th and 44th Avenue
  • September 21-25 and September 28-October 2 between 44th and 43rd Avenue
  • September 21-25 and September 28-October 2 between 48th and 46th Avenue
• Electrical conduit work for traffic signal, streetlights, and etc. is planned for:
  
  • September 23 between 37th and 38th Avenue
• Track replacement work is planned for: 
  
  • September 21-25 between Sunset Boulevard and 40th Avenue
  • September 28-October 2 between Sunset Boulevard and 38th Avenue
• Installation of Muni overhead contact system (OCS) pole is planned for:
  
  • October 1-2 between 46th and 44th Avenue
  • September 24-25 between 43rd and 40th Avenue
  • September 24-25 at the northeast corner of 47th Avenue and Wawona Street
• Construction of replacement Muni overhead contact system (OCS) pole's foundation is planned for: 
  
  • September 23-24 between 46th and 44th Avenue
  • September 21-23 between 44th and 43rd Avenue
  • October 1-2 between 48th and 46th Avenue
  • September 30-October 2 at the northeast corner of 46th Avenue and Wawona
  • September 28-September 30 at 47th Avenue and Wawona
  • September 30-October 2 at 46th Avenue between Vicente and Wawona Street

Excavation requires jackhammering of the pavement. Dust control measures will be in place to prevent dust kick up from the work.

Heavy vibrations from the shoring and sheet piling work is expected for open trench work.

Noise impact is expected from the pulling of the rails to the jobsite.

• Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.; Saturday to Sunday 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.

Some parking will be temporarily restricted in construction zones and traffic lanes will be modified during active work.

For track replacement work, traffic will be detoured at the intersections of 38th, 39th, and 40th Avenue at all times of the day until track replacement work along this 3 block segment is complete. During active construction hours, parking on both sides of the blocks will be temporarily restricted to give the crew the safety clearance they need to demo and replace the aged tracks in the center of the road and allow eastbound/westbound vehicular traffic. Parking will be returned at the end of each work day along the impacted blocks.
