Van Ness Construction Forecast: August 7- August 18, 2017

The following Van Ness Improvement Project construction forecast is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen conditions. For more project details, please visit sfmta.com/vanness.

Work is planned over the next month to develop work zones for the upcoming utility work on Van Ness Avenue. This work will create two construction zones: one southbound on Van Ness Avenue from Sutter to McAllister streets, and another northbound from Jackson to Lombard streets. The work areas that are being created will be approximately five feet from the building line to approximately the center of the roadway.

To make space for these construction zones, traffic lanes will shift in late August to create these work zones, parking will temporarily be removed, loading zones will be temporarily relocated, sidewalk widths will be reduced and bus stops will be reconfigured. Project staff is reaching out directly to businesses and residents on blocks that are impacted by these changes.

Those who travel in and through the area are advised to take alternate routes and plan for delays.
