L Taraval Improvement Project Work Forecast Oct. 21 - Nov.8, 2019

Neighborhoods Affected

Work planned October 21 to November 8, 2019

 

Details of Work to be Performed:

  • Continuation of sewer main replacement is planned for October 21-25, October 28-November 1, and November 4-8 between 45th and 43rd Avenue.
  • Water line work is planned for November 6-7th between 46th and 45th Avenue.
  • Excavation of small exploratory holes to verify the locations of existing underground utilities is planned to start on October 28 between 44th and 40th Avenue.

What to Expect:

Excavation requires jackhammering of the pavement. Vibrations from the shoring and sheet piling work is expected for the entire duration of sewer main replacement.

Dust control measures will be in place to prevent dust kick up from the work.

Waterline work will not involve water shutoff or interruption to service.

Location and Time of Work:

Northside of Taraval Street between 46th and 40th Avenue;

Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

Traffic Impacts:

Some parking will be temporarily restricted in construction zones and traffic lanes will be modified in the northbound lane during active work.

Starting Monday, October 28 to Thursday, October 31, parking will be restricted on the west side of Lower Great Highway between Taraval and Santiago and approximately 50 feet between Taraval and Ulloa Street during construction hours for soil off haul and material delivery.
