You will receive your renewal notice by mail at least one month before your permit's expiration date. Renew your permit as soon as possible so you don't get a parking ticket due to an expired permit. If you have outstanding parking tickets, you must pay them before you can be issued a permit. Renewal notices will not be sent to vehicles that, according to the DMV, are no longer registered at the permit address.
Annual Fee: $127.00 ($128 effective 7/1/2017)
This option is available for standard annual residential permits and does not apply to contractors, teachers, business/commercial, medical, student or caregiver permits.
Watch for your renewal notice in the mail. It will provide you with the renewal link and a personalized identification number (PIN) on the notice. Your PIN cannot be regenerated. If you have lost the PIN you must renew by mail or in person at the SFMTA Customer Service Center at 11 South Van Ness Avenue.

Make your check payable to SFMTA. Your permit will be processed within three (3) weeks.
Bring the renewal notice you received in the mail to the SFMTA Customer Service Center at 11 South Van Ness Avenue. If you don't have your renewal notification letter with you, you must show DMV registration and a copy of the current vehicle insurance policy in the applicant's name at the permit address.
Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
