Event Summary

The annual Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) procession will commence on Thursday, Nov 2, at 7 p.m. from its formation area on Bryant Street between 22nd and 19th Streets. About 10,000 people are expected to participate in this year’s procession. Bryant, 24th, Mission, and 22nd Streets are expected to be impacted for up to 3 hours. Streets will be closed and Muni will reroute around the procession route. Read below for more information.

Street Closures

Parade formation will begin at approximately 5 p.m. on Bryant, between 19th and 22nd streets. The following street closures will be in effect:

  • Bryant from 19th to 24th
  • 24th from Bryant to Mission
  • Mission from 24th to 22nd
  • 22nd from Mission to Bryant

The procession will begin at 7 p.m. and follow this route from Bryant & 22nd:

  • South on Bryant
  • West onto 24th
  • North onto Mission
  • East onto 22nd
  • Ending at Bryant & 22nd.

Streets are expected to be clear by 10 p.m.

Muni Reroutes

Muni will reroute the 12, 14, 14R, 27, 48, 49 and 67 from 6:45 p.m. until streets are clear.
