Email and Text Subscriptions

Overview

The SFMTA offers a free electronic subscription service that allows you to receive real-time email or text alerts about Muni service as well as email updates about agency news and projects.

Choose from an expanding array of topics and information categories, such as updates from our blog.

Subscription Categories

  • Muni Alerts (Get real-time and scheduled alerts, organized by time of day, about your Muni routes or lines.)
  • Agency News (Choose press releases, blog updates or other meeting notifications.)
  • Muni Forward (Find projects here that are part of our effort to transform SF transit.)
  • All Projects (Learn about the various transit, bike, pedestrian and complete street improvements happening throughout the city.)
  • Elevator Alerts (Customers who rely on elevators to reach Muni subway service can sign up for updates on the status of the station elevators.)

Of course, we also update our Twitter feed@sfmta_muni, with the latest information on what is happening on Muni.

We will continue to add other update topics including upcoming events, news, construction updates and project updates. You will be able to select the updates that matter to you.

How it Works

Any valid email or text address will allow you to subscribe for as many topics as you like. Once you’ve selected your topics and completed the subscription process, you will be ready to receive messages. If you subscribe to receive these messages on a mobile device, we will send you a confirmation which includes special instructions.

You may select to receive SFMTA project updates and Muni alerts through by email. Opt-in by following the links above. Message frequency varies. By opting in to this service, you consent to receive email alerts. Consent to receive marketing email messages is not required as a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

Stop Information

Use the Unsubscribe link in any alert email to stop receiving SFMTA project updates and Muni alert messages from SFMTA via email. You will receive a confirmation email.

Mobile Alert Terms and Conditions

You may select to receive SFMTA project updates and Muni alerts through your mobile device. Opt-in by following the links above or text SFMTA or Muni to 415415. Message frequency varies. By opting in to this service, you consent to receive mobile text alerts using an automatic telephone dialing system. Consent to receive marketing text messages is not required as a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

Stop Information

Manage Subscriptions

It’s easy to manage your account or unsubscribe to the topics that you have subscribed to. Links to manage your account will be in the footer of every e-mail sent from the system.
