TO: San Francisco Taxi Drivers
Effective July 1, 2025, the taxi pickup fee at SFO will increase from $5.50 to $6.00, following regulatory approvals. Color Schemes should ensure that all meters are adjusted to reflect the new fee. In preparation for this change, the minimum autoload threshold will be increased from $11 to $12.
Background
SFO is required to recover the operating costs of ground transportation from providers and evaluates annually if a rate increase is required to cover costs. SFO has not increased fees for the past four (4) years. In the last year, operating expenses have increased 12.3%. Accordingly, SFO will increase the taxi pickup fee from $5.50 to $6.00, a 9% increase. Other modes will experience a similar rate increase. This increase can be passed through to customers per SFMTA regulations.
