Proposed Changes

1. Pierce Street between Lombard Street and Chestnut Street – Relocating Accessible Parking and Establishing 6-Wheel Commercial Loading 

1a) RESCIND – BLUE ZONE, DISABLED PARKING, AT ALL TIMES
3252 Pierce Street, east side, from 48 feet to 66 feet south of Chestnut Street (18-foot zone).

1b) ESTABLISH – RED ZONE, NO STOPPING ANYTIME
3298 Pierce Street, east side, from 0 feet to 20 feet south of Chestnut Street at metered stall number 3232 (20-foot zone).

1c) ESTABLISH – METERED YELLOW ZONE, 6-WHEEL COMMERCIAL LOADING, 30-MINUTE LIMIT, 8AM TO 6PM, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
3298 Pierce Street, east side, from 20 feet to 66 feet south of Chestnut Street (46-foot zone), Marina, Supervisor District 2, Shared Spaces, sharedspaces@sfmta.com 

This is a proposal to relocate a historic blue zone which was installed under previous standards and is no longer compliant. In addition, the 3200 block of Pierce Street would be reconfigured to accommodate Shared Spaces, improve maneuverability for commercial loading, and add daylighting at an intersection to enhance pedestrian visibility.

2. Chestnut Street between Piece Street and Scott Street– Relocating Accessible Parking  ESTABLISH – BLUE ZONE, DISABLED PARKING, AT ALL TIMES 

2220 Chestnut Street, north side, from 7 feet to 28 feet west of Pierce Street at metered stall number 2204 (21-foot zone), Marina, Supervisor District 2, Shared Spaces, sharedspaces@sfmta.com 

This would relocate a blue zone from Pierce Street to Chestnut Street at a compliant location. The new zone will have a ramp directly behind it and will be 20 feet long (instead of 18 feet in its previous location) and therefore up to modern ADA standards.

3. Laguna Street between Bush Street and Sutter Street – Changing the Hours and Extending a Passenger Loading Zone

3a) RESCIND – WHITE ZONE, PASSENGER LOADING, 5-MINUTE LIMIT, DURING POSTED SERVICES
1701 Laguna Street, west side, from 20 feet to 53 feet north of Sutter Street (33-foot zone)

3b) ESTABLISH – WHITE ZONE, PASSENGER LOADING, 5-MINUTE LIMIT, 1PM TO 6PM MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY AND 9AM TO NOON, SUNDAYS
1701 Laguna Street, west side, from 20 feet to 60 feet north of Sutter Street (40-foot zone), Japantown, Supervisor District 5, Curb Access, ccp@sfmta.com.

The sponsoring church has requested a change in the hours of their existing passenger loading zone to better accommodate their needs for both services as well as their after-school program. This proposal would specify the days and hours when the passenger loading zone is in effect instead of “During Posted Services”, which makes it clearer to drivers when they can park or load there.

4. Turk Street between Gough Street and Franklin Street – Changing the Hours of a Passenger Loading Zone

4b) ESTABLISH - WHITE ZONE, PASSENGER LOADING, 5-MINUTE LIMIT, 7AM TO 9AM AND 2PM TO 6PM, SCHOOL DAYS
888 Turk Street, north side, from 23 feet to 79 feet east of Gough Street at metered stall numbers 834, 836 and 838 (56-foot zone), Western Addition, Supervisor District 2, Curb Access, ccp@sfmta.com.

This proposal extends an existing passenger loading zone’s hours by one hour to align with Millennium School’s afternoon pickup times.

5. Mission Bay Boulevard South between Merrimac Street and 4th Street – Establishing a Commercial Loading Zone 

ESTABLISH – METERED YELLOW ZONE, COMMERCIAL LOADING, 30-MINUTE LIMIT, 8AM TO 6PM, DAILY

601 Mission Bay Boulevard South, south side, from 141 feet to 204 feet east of Merrimac Street at meter stall numbers 627, 625, 623 (62-foot zone), South of Market, Supervisor District 6, Curb Access, ccp@sfmta.com.

This proposal would create commercial loading access for vendors that deliver to SPARK Social food truck park during operational hours.

6. Albion Street And 16th Street – Relocating Accessible Parking

6b) ESTABLISH - BLUE ZONE, ACCESSIBLE PARKING, AT ALL TIMES
"3138" 16th street, north side, from 20 feet to 40 feet east of Albion Street at meter stall numbers 3138, 3136, 3134, and 3132  (20-foot zone), Mission District, Supervisor District 9, Broderick Paulo, broderick.paulo@sfmta.com.

This proposal would relocate a blue zone to better serve the relocated Social Security Administration building.

7. Shotwell Street between 18th Street and 19th Street – Establishing a Commercial Loading Zone ESTABLISH – YELLOW ZONE, COMMERCIAL LOADING, 30-MINUTE LIMIT, 8AM TO 6PM, MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

434 Shotwell, west side, from 200 feet to 264 feet south of 18th Street (64-foot zone), Mission, Supervisor District 9, Curb Access, ccp@sfmta.com.

This proposal would add commercial loading access for a new retail space, warehouse and catering space during operational hours.

8. Guerrero Street between 22nd Street and 21st Street – Relocating Short-Term Parking for Daylighting

8a) RESCIND – GREEN ZONE, SHORT-TERM PARKING, 10-MINUTE LIMIT, 9AM TO 6PM, MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
3398 22nd Street, north side, from 9 feet to 28 feet east of Guerrero Street (19-foot zone)

8b) ESTABLISH – RED ZONE, NO STOPPING ANYTIME
3398 22nd Street, north side, from 0 feet to 20 feet east of Guerrero Street (20-foot zone)

8c) ESTABLISH – GREEN ZONE, SHORT-TERM PARKING, 10-MINUTE LIMIT, 9AM TO 6PM, MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
995 Guerrero Street, east side, from 36 feet to 56 feet north of 22nd Street (20-foot zone), Mission, Supervisor District 9, Curb Access, ccp@sfmta.com.

This would shift an existing short-term parking space from 22nd Street to Guerrero Street in order to accommodate daylighting on 22nd Street. Visibility for pedestrians on the approach of an intersection is mandated by State Law (AB413).

9. 20th Street between 3rd Street and Illinois Street – Establishing a Passenger Loading Zone ESTABLISH – WHITE ZONE, PASSENGER LOADING, 5-MINUTE LIMIT, 8AM TO 10AM AND 3PM TO 6PM, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

610 20th Street, north side, from 64 feet to 103 feet west of Illinois Street at meter stall numbers 10 and 12 (39-foot zone), Dogpatch, Supervisor District 10, Curb Access, ccp@sfmta.com.

This would provide safe curb access and passenger loading for infants and children at a daycare during drop-off and pick-up hours.

10. Hearst Avenue between Edna Street and Foerster Street – Establishing a Passenger Loading Zone

ESTABLISH – WHITE ZONE, PASSENGER LOADING, 5-MINUTE LIMIT, 7:30AM TO 9:30AM AND 2PM to 4:30PM, SCHOOL DAYS

419 Hearst Avenue, south side, from 302 feet to 455 feet east of Foerster Street (153-foot zone), Oceanview, Supervisor District 7, Curb Access, ccp@sfmta.com.

This proposal would provide space for student pickups and drop-offs at St. Finn Barr Catholic School.

11. Tunnel Avenue between Recycle Road and Visitacion Avenue at Bayshore Caltrain Station – Establishing a Passenger Loading Zone

ESTABLISH – WHITE ZONE, PASSENGER LOADING, 5-MINUTE LIMIT, 6AM TO 9:30 AM and 3:30PM TO 6:30PM, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

400 Tunnel Avenue, west side, from north parking lot driveway to 40 feet southerly (40-foot zone), Visitacion Valley, Supervisor District 10, Curb Access, ccp@sfmta.com.

This proposal would add a passenger loading zone for a regional shuttle operator to pick up and drop off riders at the Bayshore Caltrain station.

The changes below have been approved or withdrawn for further evaluation. Items forwarded for implementation by directive constitute a Final SFMTA Decision. Final SFMTA Decisions, whether made by the City Traffic Engineer or the SFMTA Board, can be reviewed by the Board of Supervisors pursuant to Ordinance 127-18.
